Andrew Thielen started the big band in 1993 playing for the door in Myrtle Beach. As a former United States Marine Corps officer, he brought the same discipline and precision to music that he brought to service — and the results have been extraordinary.
Today, the Andrew Thielen Big Band is a fresh, powerful ensemble of only the finest musicians and vocalists across NC, SC, GA, AL, VA, and FL. An all-star cast that includes former Disney and theater performers, a successful contestant from NBC's The Voice, and a nationally acclaimed drummer.
They've played Inaugural Balls for two Governors, Betty White's 90th birthday party, a PBS television special, and were hired by Toyota to perform at an exclusive retreat in Banff, Canada. Every New Year's Eve, they headline the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island.
